An Odd Focus Studios project
Fractal Rhythm
Fractals you can hear.
Fractal Rhythm turns infinite mathematical shapes into music. Pinch to zoom into endless fractal worlds, and every view you find plays its own song.
What it does
- Four fractals to explore: the Mandelbrot set, Julia worlds, the Burning Ship and the Collatz map.
- Deep zoom, made on your iPhone. Every picture is calculated on the device as you pinch or fly into the detail.
- Every view makes music. The contours, detail and edges of what's on screen choose the notes and rhythm, in a range of musical styles you can tune.
- Freeze map. See exactly which points are playing each note.
- Visual studio. Palettes, custom colours, edge enhancement and relief shading.
- Video with music. Record a flight through a fractal with its sound and save or share it.
- Private by design. Works offline, with no account, no ads and no tracking.
